Also, the Lake Havasu Senior Center (450 South Acoma) offers very affordable classes ($1 each), such as exercise, pinochle, bridge, line dancing, yoga, bunco, mah-jong, dominos, cribbage, billiards, table tennis and bingo.

For those senior citizens who find themselves housebound, the local Meals on Wheels program brings food right to your door. For seniors who want to get together and socialize with others, the Lake Havasu Senior Center offers community lunches Monday through Friday from 11:30-12:15pm for a simple $3 (seniors over 60) or $5 (seniors under 60) donation. The computer lab is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am-3:45pm and there's even a beginner's course to learn how to use computers on Tuesday and Thursday from 9am-11am and 1pm-3pm so you can become a bit more tech-savvy.

A Golfer's Haven

Lake Havasu City golf courses provide a golfer's haven. Bridgewater Links at Queens Bay (1477 Queens Bay) is a public 9 hole, par 30 course with 1808 yards to play on. Havasu Island Golf Course (1040 McCulloch Blvd) is a public 18 hole, par 61 course played out over 4191 yards. The Refuge Golf and Country Club (3275 N Latrobe Dr) offers two private courses: an 18 hole, 7083 yard, par 72 course (Refuge Course) and another 18 hole course (Refuge 2 Course) . The London Bridge Golf Course (2400 Clubhouse Dr) also offers two public courses; the West Course is an 18 hole, 6818 yard, par 71 course while the East Course is an 18 hole, 6140 yard, part 71 course.

Casino Fun

Situated on local Native American land, Havasu Landing is a simple ferry ride across the lake. They offer 243 slot machines, live blackjack and 3 card poker play. Their restaurant is open from 8:30am-10pm Sunday-Thursday and 8:30am-11pm on Friday and Saturday. The casino itself is open from 8:30am-12:30am Sunday-Thursday and 8:30am-2:30am Friday and Saturday.

Approximately 30-45 minutes to the southwest, in Parker, AZ, is the Bluewater Resort and Casino. They offer slots, card games and bingo every day. Further north along the Colorado River is the Avi, another Indian casino offering a full array of slot machines, card games and bingo. And only about an hour away from beautiful Lake Havasu City is Laughlin, Nevada, with several casinos to choose from.

There is also an open air mall called The Shops at Lake Havasu located at the north end of the city with restaurants, more mainstream shops (such as Dillard's, JCPenney, Michael's, PetSmart, Sally Beauty Supply, Famous Footwear, Styles for Less and Walmart) and even a state-of-the-art movie theater.

If you like the outdoors, you'll love the city's namesake: Lake Havasu. Whether you love boating, swimming, waterskiing, parasailing or fishing, the lake will provide hours of entertainment.
